one of the bad days

just came back from seeing Izhar.

his blood platelet count went up to 938,000 and they are suspecting that he may be having an infection. as of now, we have to wait 48hrs for the results of his blood culture. the earliest would be wednesday night, else it’ll be on thursday.

apart from amoxicilin, they are now giving him penicillin too but via an IV tube.

my heart just ached seeing him - not only having the c-pap but now having the IV tube. as an adult, having the tube inserted into my vein was pretty painful… and to think that my 2 week old baby has to have an IV inserted into his hand… just… pains me.

it was only when the nurse was cleaning him up; that he was turned around, that he pooped - a lot, i think one of the reasons he cried was because he couldn’t poop. and when she took off the c-pap tube of him and carried him, while another nurse changed the bedding, the little boy was actually looking all calm, peaceful and happy. only to be upset again when they had to put the c-pap tube on him again…

mama and papa know that you are upset with all these foreign objects, but they are meant to help you ok? especially that uncomfortable piece that is attached to your nose - thats helping you to breath. and these needles and these nicks that are done… they are to help give you medicine and help find out whats wrong with you… so you be a strong boy and be as patient as possible as the doctors try to find out whats wrong ok?

mama and papa will do our best to be as strong too alright sayang? we pray everyday that things are fine with you… and though mama knows what to expect, and that all is in God’s hands… it still hurts mama to see you that way darling. tears fill up mama’s eyes… but mama will not cry in front of you; not when you are trying so SO hard to do your best against all the odds.

as of now, we just pray that the high blood platelet count is not something to be too concerned about ya?
