oh happy day!

yup. it was a happy happy 2hrs for azhar and i today. *wide grin* and we had a very lovely nurse on duty too.

Izhar was wide awake when we arrived, which was at 730pm. i guess he was waiting for us to turn up. stayed awake all the way til his next feeding time, which was at 845pm.

anyways, highlights highlights!

  • they took off the IV that was used for the blood transfusion XD
  • his assisted O2 level is back to 21%
  • he pooped biiiig time, and i got to clean his small butt for the first time!
  • got to carry him for over an hour - without his C-pap! and he did pretty well in our opinion. heartbeat rate not above 180bpm and his O2 level above 80%! XDDD we’re so hoping he’ll be able to get off the c-pap soon
  • we got a huge reaction from him when his mouth went near my breast - his eyes literally went wide open! lol. we thought it was just pure luck til we tried it a few times, and yes - same wide eyed reaction. cuteness!
  • for the first time we managed to see him getting a bath. as per what the nurse says, he loves getting a bath, like literally he’ll just keep quiet once he gets into the water. XDD
  • first time being able to dry him after his bath *wiiiiiiide grin*. nurse was busy with Izhar’s neighbour so i helped out XD
  • gave him his 845 feed and petted him to sleep.
  • new snippets - my son sleeps better on his right - like mummy!

so overall, the 2hrs we spent with him was absolutely precious. even Azhar mentioned that he felt so much closer to Izhar. He managed to talk to his dear son for quite a while - something that is of a rare occurence cuz the lil fella on most occasions is asleep. no crying today = no complaints = he is comfortable and contented; the most important thing for me to know right now.

to end off, today was a precious memory for us!
